Our cybersecurity solution – ELIoT Pro |From Enigma to IoT #8

In this episode, Jack Wolosewicz explains what is ELIoT Pro. ELIoT Pro, on the hand, stands for Easy Lightweight IoT Protection that as one of its components uses password-less Human-to-Machine authentication, based on the original Cyberus Key technology.

Cyber security is obviously of paramount importance nowadays since recently attacked branches include among others: Industry 4.0, smart cities, smart homes and automotive.

EU support

ELIoT Pro system has been developed thanks to support and funding from the European Commission’s SME Instrument program. With use of such supporting vehicle the European Commission acts here as a courageous “Angel Investor” investing boldly and successfully in revolutionary technologies in which most other investors do not dare to invest.

The SME Instrument (now the EIC Accelerator) was part of the European Innovation Council (EIC) supporting high-potential enterprises (mainly small and medium-sized, SMEs), with financing as well as coaching and mentoring, to develop and bring to market new products, services and business models that could drive economic growth, filling the market gap by support innovation considered ‘high-risk’ for private investors. In the new EU budget perspective is becoming now a new program: EIC Accelerator complemented by the EIC Pathfinder pilot, which supports advanced technologies/early-stage innovation. The EIC Fast Track to Innovation will continue to offer support for consortia including SMEs and industrial players.

The SME instrument offered Europe’s brightest and boldest entrepreneurs the chance to step forward and request funding for breakthrough ideas with the potential to create entirely new markets or revolutionise existing ones.

Horizon Europe 2021-2027

Horizon 2020 was the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) – in addition to the private investment that this money has attracted. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the lab to the market.

It will be continued now by the new program Horizon Europe 2021-2027.
